On Thurs., Sept. 8, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa welcomes Fashion's Night Out back to Los Angeles for a second year with an appearance at Beverly Center. Mayor Villaraigosa announced, "I am proud that for the second straight year the City of Los Angeles is participating in Fashion's Night Out. This event showcases the diverse and creative talent of our fashion industry that generates $5.7 billion in sales for the City and directly supports over 100,000 jobs."
Beverly Center's Opening Ceremony for the citywide event commences at 5 p.m. with Mayor Villaraigosa followed by a luxury fashion show at 5:30 p.m. Other planned activities include a second fashion show at 8 p.m., which will showcase the Center's contemporary/junior merchants. This year marks Beverly Center's second-year collaboration with Fashion's Night Out, The City of LA and the Mayor's Office of Economic and Business Policy. Fashion's Night Out (FNO) 2011 is also marked by new sponsors joining the local effort and includes Presenting Sponsor BMW North America and Supporting Sponsors Maybelline New York, Obika Mozzarella Bar, Pisco Portón and WEN by Chaz Dean and Chaz Dean Salon Hollywood. Free self-parking will be available from 3-11 p.m.
2011's participating stores (partial list) include luxury retailers like BURBERRY, FENDI, LOUIS VUITTON, OMEGA, PRADA, SALVATORE FERRAGAMO and YVES SAINT LAURENT that will join anchor stores Bloomingdale's and Macy's. Contemporary/junior and point of difference brands BCBGMAXAZRIA, Bebe, Ben Sherman, Express, Forever XXI, Henri Bendel, Max&Co., Steve Madden, Traffic Los Angeles, True Religion Brand Jeans, White House l Black Market and many more are also featured. Further, Beverly Center has aligned with HL Group, who will be working with top designers and luxury merchants for a fashion show and exclusive in-store activations at the Center to make it the first and only stop of the night. Fashion's Night Out is an unprecedented global initiative originally created in 2009 to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence and boost the industry's economy during the recession.
