Beth Lapides extended her hit Los Angeles show again and added 3 more performances of "100% Happy 88% of the Time" just to fulfill all the advance ticket sales. And now the part-time Palm Springs resident gives her desert fans the opportunity to see it for two shows only - so far, that is, on February 19th and 20th.
Beth Lapides' musical standup stage show meets cabaret could be called Un-Cabaret in this combination comedy, personal storytelling, big ideas, edgy science, New Age spirituality, and multi-media presentation with original songs in a night of evolutionary entertainment that has been making audiences 100% happy since October 2010.
Beth finds the silver lining in these crazy changing times as she tells the story of her eviction from an apartment in Los Angeles and move to the desert where she falls down the rabbit-hole of the New Age. But she's really telling a bigger story. "We're all being evicted -individually as well as collectively, from our homes, jobs and lifestyles", is how Beth sums it up.
A visual performance artist turned comedy revolutionist; She's created numerous stage shows and toured the English-speaking world before creating Un-Cabaret and launching modern 'alternative comedy'. "100% Happy 88% of the Time" is her triumphant return to a larger theatrical canvas with original script and songs written & performed by Beth Lapides along with Mitch Kaplan, produced by Greg Miller, and directed by Clifford Bell.
With two shows, Saturday, February 19th at 9 PM, and Sunday, February 20th, 2010 at 8 PM with a cover of $10. Reservations for dinner one hour before show times will help assure seating for the event, which is expected to sell out, with cocktail only options available if seating allows. Blame It On Midnight is located at 777 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way in Palm Springs. Reservations are requested by calling 760-323-1200.
