The Walt Disney Concert Hall presents Bajofondo featuring Gustavo Santaolalla and Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas on May 14, 2010 at 8pm.
The first half of the performance features the NY-based Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas, led by Artistic Director Alondra de la Parra in a program celebrating both Mexico's and Argentina's bicentennials. For the second half, Bajofondo - the Argentine and Uruguayan collective led by two-time Oscar-winning composer and three-time BAFTA recipient Gustavo Santaolalla - mixes a unique blend of tango, pop and electronica. Concluding the celebration, Bajofondo will be joined by the Orchestra for a special collaboration. This concert is one of several performances taking place during the LA Phil's Americas and Americans Festival.
