Be prepared to be entertained by April Showers, the current reigning Miss Hollywood Burlesque at BOOBS, BOOKS AND BURLESQUE on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at the Culver Hotel in downtown Culver City. Showers is the recipient of several awards including Most Classic and Best Singer. Funny, glamorous and classy, she is noted to be one of the best burlesque performers in Los Angeles. Also entertaining will be Maxi Millions, a multi-award winning burlesque performer known for her classic bump 'n grind style and high glamour taste. She is co-producer of Spellbound Burlesque and has performed on stages all over the U.S.

BOOBS, BOOKS AND BURLESQUE takes place at The Culver Hotel, located at 9400 Culver Blvd in downtown Culver City. Founded in 1924 by Harry Culver, the landmark hotel is famous for being owned by Charlie Chaplin--who later lost it in a poker game to John Wayne--and for hosting much of the cast of Gone with the Wind and The Wizard of Oz! The hotel was voted Most Romantic Boutique Hotel in California and Top Ten in the Nation in 2015 by the readers of USA TODAY.

Author and filmmaker Leslie Zemeckis presents this exciting evening of live music and award-winning burlesque performances benefiting Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation, for a future without breast cancer. Zemeckis will be signing her recently launched biography of Lili St. Cyr, history's most famous burlesque artist, titled "Goddess of Love Incarnate." You may also bid on luxury trips and one-of-a-kind items while enjoying Exotic Lili drinks, hosted by Eppa SupraFruta Sangria, and tasting delectable hors d'oeuvres, complementary of The Culver Hotel.

Proceeds from the evening will benefit Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation, whose mission is to find the cause of breast cancer in order to prevent and ultimately end this disease.

Lili St. Cyr was, in the words of legendary reporter Mike Wallace, the "highest paid stripteaser in America." Wallace was so fascinated by Lili that out of all the presidents and celebrities he interviewed over a long career, she was the one he remained fixated on. Her beauty had that kind of effect. Lili led an incredible life-six marriages, romances with Orson Wells, Yul Brenner, Vic Damone, arrests on indecency charges, a number of suicide attempts -all alongside great fame and money. A bigger star than Gypsy Rose Lee, Lili was named one of the world's ten most beautiful women alongside Ava Gardner and Brigitte Bardot. Yet she lost it all, becoming a recluse in her final decades.

"Goddess of Love Incarnate." is the definitive biography of this legendary figure, done with the cooperation of Lili's only surviving sister. But the book does more than fascinate readers with stories of a byone era; it reveals that behind the g-strings and the pasties stood a "complicated, eccentric, brilliant" woman, much loved and little understood. As an award winning documentary filmmaker and writer, Leslie Zemeckis restores Lili to her rightful place in American history in a way no other writer could. and let your users know a little more about you.
