The Attic Theatre's production of Side By Side By Sondheim will end its run on May 2nd. The production was originally set to close April 18th.

First seen in London in 1976, Side by Side features some of Sondheim's best known works (including collaborations with Leonard Bernstein, Richard Rodgers, Mary Rodgers and Jule Styne from classic musicals such as West Side Story, Gypsy, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Company, Follies, Pacific Overtures and A Little Night Music," continuing, "Side by Side by Sondheim was conceived by David Kernan, originally as a fundraiser, following a request from singer Cleo Laine and her husband John Dankworth. The show became a major hit in the UK before transferring to Broadway in 1977. It received five Tony Award nominations and it is one of the few shows to have the distinction of its entire cast being nominated for a Tony award. The five-person cast includes Jenny Ashman, Jennifer Blake, Morgan Duke, Nick Sarando and Joe Donohoe.

The Attic Theatre Ensemble was founded in 1987 by James Carey and Denise Ragan and has become one of Los Angeles' most important and prestigious legitimate theater groups. Until the move to our new home in 2003, the ATTIC was the oldest producing organization on Hollywood's Theatre Row.

The ATTIC seeks to present West Coast Premieres, new and original works, and innovative re-imagined productions of classic plays. We are committed to a representation of Los Angeles' diverse community through theatrical expression. For more information visit http://www.attictheatre.org/.
