Art-In-Relation (A.I.R.), is thrilled to announce the Los Angeles proper premiere of John Bucchino's "It's Only Life". Filled with a hauntingly beautiful score, this production focuses on the choices made by artists between their art and their lives on and off the stage.
Director Alan Palmer is excited to invoke a new vision to this show with the old adage "Does art imitate life or does life imitate art?"
After three successful seasons of theater in the Long Beach area, Art-In-Relation made its move to Los Angeles with two acclaimed productions, "Andrew Lippa's Wild Party" and "Frankenstein, A New Musical" in the fall of 2016. They were honored to receive rave reviews and an "Ovation Recommendation" from the LA Theater Alliance.
The production of "It's Only Life" will be performed in the Attic Theater in Los Angeles, an intimate 49 seat venue. In an added bonus, the composer of It's Only Life, John Bucchino will be playing the show opening weekend on a 1849 reconditioned Steinway piano. Producer Sills notes, "John Bucchino's songs are uniquely tied to his piano renditions, that almost breathe like another character in the musical story."
The production team includes stage and television veteran, Alan Palmer, as Director and Choreographer. Jonas Sills will be producing and also serving as musical director. Diana Brownson will be on the keys for the following weeks of the run. Joining us as stage manager and female cover is VanNessa Hulme, while rounding out the group is Christopher Allport, production support/design, and Heidi Sills as production assistant and box office. The cast will include Jill Marie Burke, Justin Jones, Philip McBride, Joan Ryan, Ken Shepski, and Laura Wolfe, each one having enormous skill as the singer storytellers needed for this show.
Opening night with the composer will be on June 9th, with performances each Friday, Saturday at 8:00 and Sunday at 2:00 until July 9th. There will be a special Saturday matinee on July 8th at 2:00.
The Attic Theater is at 5429 W Washington Blvd, Los Angeles 90016
