ClassicsFest 2011 - The Antaeus Company, L.A.'s classical theater ensemble, presents its 7th "summer splash" of actor-initiated workshops, readings, and special events. Audiences can choose from a veritable smorgasbord of the classics. This week: The Legend of Oedipus by Kenneth Cavander and The Wood Demon by Anton Chekhov.

The Legend of Oedipus by Kenneth Cavander, directed by Casey Stangl
The man, the myth, the legend. Antaeus presents the Oedipus story in its entirety and poses the question: can you ever escape your fate? (A fully-staged Work-in-Process)

The Wood Demon by Anton Chekhov, directed by Frank Dwyer
The Antaeus Company returns to the enchanted world of Chekhov's unjustly-neglected, youthful masterpiece - a rich comedy, full of life, love, laughter, hope and joy that was Antaeus' premiere production in 1993. ("Flights of Fancy" event)
