Stage industry veteran Andy Perez has been ap pointed press director of the Geffen Playhouse. Perez oversees publicity, social media, and external communication for one of the area's most known regional theaters. Perez was formerly was tour publicist for Cavalia, the Montreal based touring production, West Coast regional public relations manager for Feld Entertainment, Inc., and a publicist for Radio City Entertainment leading publicity campaigns for five consecutively running productions of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular in Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, Branson, and Myrtle Beach.
Perez succeeds
Allison Rawlings, who is now Head of Publicity at
Dreamworks Animation, and interim publicists Davidson & Choy Publicity.

Named in honor of entertainment mogul and philanthropist
David Geffen, who made the initial donation to the theater, the company was founded by
Gilbert Cates, and is currently helmed by Artistic Director
Randall Arney, Managing Director
Ken Novice and Chairman of the Board
Frank Mancuso. Proudly associated with UCLA, the
Geffen Playhouse welcomes an audience of more than 130,000 each year, and maintains an extensive education and outreach program, designed to engage young people and the community at large in the arts.
During his career, Perez has been the coordinator for marketing, technical, artistic, logistic, external vendors and front of house and helped create 20,000+ in advance sales for Cavalia in Monterrey, Mexico, the largest advance in the company's history. He created early social media campaigns for Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, and during his tenure at Feld Entertainment managed 700 events including publicity stunts, red carpet events, fundraisers, training seminars and educational programs. Perez worked on the arena tour Star Wars in Concert, the Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire, and with film composers
Alan Menken and Dan Licht.
Perez began his career at WGN Radio as producer of the Roy Leonard Show, and was an account supervisor at Miller-Pear Public Relations in Chicago, representing Travel Michigan and The Wizard of Oz starring
Eartha Kitt and
Mickey Rooney.
