All The Way West Productions, Inc. proudly presents its Black History Production of PERIPHERY by Ed Simpson and Directed by celebrity director/actress Lorey Hayes opening on Saturday, January 21, 2017 and running weekends throughFebruary 26, 2017, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 3:00 p.m. at The Hudson Backstage Theatre located at 6539 Santa Monica Blvd., Hollywood, CA 90038.

The docudrama Periphery is based on the February 1960 Sit-ins at the Woolworth's lunch counter in Greensboro, North Carolina, by four young college freshmen, which galvanized the civil rights movement in the United States. Periphery is about those on the fringes of those sit-ins - who must choose between continuing the injustices of the past or moving forward toward a more just America. Periphery focuses on ordinary citizens, particularly two families (one black & one white), forced to grapple with their beliefs about race and justice as they stand witness to an historic event that will forever change their lives.

With recent events, such as the Sit-Ins in Mobile Alabama that led to the arrest of NAACP President Cornell W. Brooks and several other protesters, this play is as timely today as the 57 year old events that led to its creation and thereby Director Lorey Hayes has created "Talk Back" an open moderated forum after the play to stimulate conversation, feedback and solutions. In unity with the Women's March, Black History Month, BlackLivesMatter and other social and community groups seeking unity, and equal rights.

Producer, Harry Jones, Jr. founder of All The Way West Productions, Inc. established in 1998 specializes in producing plays for Black History Month.
