The All Roses Company has announced the world premiere production of The Animal Within, a new comedy by Ralph Tropf, directed by Lynn Stevenson, with one preview performance on Thursday, November 3, and opening night set for Friday, November 4 at 8:00. The limited engagement will run through December 18 only.

This sexy new comedy tells the tale of wealthy socialite Sylvia Argus, who hires a sexy young girl as a live in housekeeper. As Melody gushes about living at Sylvia's elegant house on the beach, her youth and enthusiasm awaken Sylvia's long-repressed attraction to women. Sylvia's husband, Dr. Robert Argus, arrives home surprised to find an attractive young woman having moved into his house, and fears that having Melody there will disrupt his marriage. Sylvia insists that Melody stay, and that's all it takes to bring out The Animal Within.

The cast will feature (in alphabetical order) Nathan Bouldin, Carrie Madsen, and Howland Wilson. The scenic design is by Staci Walters, lighting design is by Paige Selene Luke, and costume design is by Lori Lee Gordon. Kevin Story serves as stage manager. The Animal Within is a guest production at the Elephant Space.

Playwright Ralph Tropf's play Shadow Hour was produced in Los Angeles in 1998, and it was subsequently published by Samuel French. Tropf's screenplay The Orchid and the Cross was a semi-finalist for a Nicholl Fellowship, and he wrote for Fox Television's World's Wildest Police Videos. For more, visit www.ralphtropf.com.

Director Lynn Stevenson has directed for many LA theatre companies, including Theatre Neo, West Coast Ensemble, Company of Angels, and Sacred Fools, most recently staging Whatever I Want and Surprises for Neo Theatre Ensemble. As a staff producer for Delta Entertainment, Stevenson produced and directed nine documentary, biography, and non-fiction films.
