Ailema Sousa, Ashlee Jones & Charles Nkrumah Jr. to star in Fort Huachuca
Coming to the Hollywood Fringe Festival is a new groundbreaking World War II-themed play directed by Amen Igbinosun entitled, Fort Huachuca.
Actors Ailema Sousa (Shut Up, I Love You), Ashlee Jones (Boston Public), Charles Nkrumah Jr. (Northbound in New York), Natalia Elizabeth (Fatal Attraction) and Nicole Sousa (Bridecon) join forces in Hollywood, California June 2nd to 20th at The OMR Theatre.
Fort Huachuca takes place in the World War II era where African American nurses arrive on an army base camp. The production follows Mayvee, Marjorie, Georgia, Elinor, and Thelma on their journey as they face the biggest challenge of their lives: Inequality, growing racial tension and a society that does not acknowledge their efforts, when all they want is to fight for their country.
Next Up Talent CEO Elizabeth Alabi, who saw a preview of the play, tells us at Broadway World exclusively, "This story is part of a history that has not been told, it is an important piece of all our history that must be brought to the light and I am very excited about the future of this piece".
The play will debut during the Hollywood Fringe Festival, an annual, open-access, community-derived event celebrating freedom of expression and collaboration in the performing arts community.
