About Productions and Bootleg Theater present a world premiere multimedia theatrical event “Evangeline, the Queen of Make-Believe," featuring the songbook of David Hidalgo and Louie Pérez of Los Lobos. The show begins previews May 3, with an official opening of May 12, and runs through May 27.
Written by Theresa Chavez, Louie Pérez and Rose Portillo and featuring the songbook of David Hidalgo and Louie Pérez of Los Lobos, the production is directed by Theresa Chavez and Rose Portillo and stars Karen Anzoategui, Danielle Barbosa, Daniel Chacón, Jorge Diaz, Gina Gomez, Catherine Lidstone, Georgia Reed and Denisse Schwartz.
The creative team also includes musical director Scott Rodarte with the Hidalgo/ Pérez songbook played on stage by a live bandwith featured vocalist CAVA and video design by award-winning cinematographer Claudio Rocha. The show is produced by About Productions and Bootleg Theater.

In celebration of the premiere run of Evangeline, the Queen of Make-Believe a “music night” featuring CAVA, Ollin with special guests Little Willie G and Mark Guerrero, and Thee Commons will be presented on Saturday, May 26, immediately following the performance of Evangeline.
