ATE9 Dance Company Artistic Director Danielle Agami today announced two exciting new engagements as the company continues its fourth season as one of Southern California's premiere contemporary dance companies. ATE9 will appear as part of The LA Philharmonic Orchestra's L.A. Dances series at The Hollywood Bowl on Sept. 8, 2016, and also perform in a multi-disciplinary event at the HD Buttercup gallery that begins Oct. 6.
The company also announced that Agami was awarded the prestigious 2016 Princess Grace Award by the Princess Grace Foundation which carries on the legacy of Princess Grace (Kelly) of Monaco and honors a New Group of emerging artists in theater, dance and film. As part of the prize, Agami will create a new commissioned work for Visceral Dance Chicago, which will be performed at the Harris Theater in Chicago in the Fall of 2017.
ATE9's performances are as follows:
"ME" -- THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL - SEPT. 8 @ 8 PM
In its first ever appearance at The Hollywood Bowl, ATE9 performs the dynamic world premiere of "Me," choreographed by Danielle Agami. Presented and fully
commissioned by The Los Angeles Philharmonic, "Me" explores intimacy in today's world, which is too easily pushed aside--yet there is nothing perhaps we crave more. "Me" experiments with our desire to be together and apart from other human beings. The piece will be performed by Agami and the full cast of Ate9 to music by LA-based composer Daniel Wohl called "Replicate Part 2." (http://www.danielwohlmusic.com/). ATE9 is one of three LA dance companies chosen to showcase their work in the series. Ludovic Morlot will conduct The LA Philharmonic.
"We are excited to be a part of this production that serves as a centerpiece for innovative performance artistry in Los Angeles," Agami said.

"QUEEN GEORGE" -- HD BUTTERCUP - OCT. 6 @ 7 PM / OCT. 7 & 8 @ 8 PM
"Queen George," returning for a second run at a new venue, examines people, and people's secrets choreographed by Danielle Agami. Featuring music by Collage and costumes by a variety of local designers, "Queen George" explores intimacy in a public setting and how living in L.A sometimes forces us to reconsider our instincts regarding family, relationships, friendships and private time at home.
A special original set by Israeli designer Amir Raveh provides the playground for the dancers in the HD Buttercup galleries featuring a collection of handmade, one-of-a-kind pieces of furniture, all of which are offered for purchase. Proceeds will go to Ate9 dANCEcOMPANY as a tax-deductible donation.
"We thank HD Buttercup for hosting the unique collaboration, and for their support in local creation and performance," Agami said.
