ADG Gallery 800 Presents New Mixed Media Exhibit  Image

?The Art Directors Guild's Gallery 800 (ADG, IATSE Local 800) presents A FAMILY OF ARTISTS, an exclusive mixedmedia exhibition featuring personal artwork of over 70 artists, at the exhibit opening and hosted reception on Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. The public will have a unique opportunity to meet and mingle with the artists of the ADG and their families. The exhibit also celebrates the family of the IATSE guilds, welcoming members of the International Cinematographers Guild (IATSE, Local 600), the Animation Guild (IATSE, Local 839), the Affiliated Property Craftspersons (IATSE, Local 44), as well as artists who work in the motion picture and television industries and are connected in the shared experience of creating.

A FAMILY OF ARTISTS Exhibition will run through Saturday, November 3, 2018. The opening reception will feature a live jazz band, the 'Do Drop In Trio,' refreshments and is free to the public. Gallery 800 is located at 5108 Lankershim Blvd. in the North Hollywood Arts District.

'Gallery 800 is proud to premiere this comprehensive, stunning exhibition showcasing over 70 talented artists,' says curator Abra Brayman. "A FAMILY OF ARTISTS is a unique, mixed-media show of personal artwork by members of the ADG, their families and the 'family' of other IASTE guild artists. We have had an overwhelming response for submissions and are thrilled to present this beautiful exhibition for the first time.'

In addition to the art exhibition, there will be a book signing by Production Designer, artist and author Edward L. Rubin for "Vermont - An Outsider's Inside View,' considered the new standard of photography books on this beautiful and unique state. A few photos from the book will be included in the exhibition. Among the artists spotlighted in the Gallery 800 Exhibition will be Emmy® Nominated Art Director John V. Cartwright (An Officer and a Gentleman, The Winds of War, First Monday in October, Kiss Me Goodbye) and Cartwright's daughter, Angela Cartwright, a multi-talented fine artist, actress and child star best known for her roles in The Sound of Music, Lost In Space, Make Room for Daddy, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Logan's Run, among many others. Also spotlighted will be BAFTA-nominated designer Brian Eatwell (The Abominable Dr. Phibes, The Man Who Fell to Earth, The Three Musketeers, The Four Musketeers and Wired).

The final 2018 Gallery 800 Exhibition will be ARTS UNITES 12, opening on Dec.1, 2018 ? Jan. 26, 2019.

Gallery 800, located in the heart of the Noho Arts District, showcases Guild members' personal artwork in a series of shows throughout the year. These talented artists are leading art department professionals, who, through a combination of observation, passion and imagination, bring the writer's words and the director's vision to life in television and film. When not working as integral creative members of the entertainment community, they contribute to the fine art scene with their personal artwork. Since Gallery 800 opened its doors in March 2009, more than 700 ADG members have shown their artwork in the ongoing exhibitions.

The exhibit organizers are Abra Brayman, Curator; Michael Denering, Fine Arts Committee Chair, and Jackie Thompson, Gallery 800 Staff Coordinator. Gallery 800 (located at 5108 Lankershim Blvd. at the Historic Lankershim Arts Center in the heart of North Hollywood) is open Thursday - Friday: 12 - 8pm; Saturday 2 ? 8 pm;Sunday 2 - 6pm.
