The Stella Adler Academy Lab Theatre will reincarnate the life of Soviet-era writer and artist Isaac Babel in Timothy McNeil's newest play Isaac Babel and The Black Sea. A meditation on creativity and artistic responsibility within the turbulence of totalitarian government, Isaac Babel and The Black Sea will move audiences to reconsider the nature of passion, love, and violence piercing the shroud mystery surrounding Babel as he comes of age in Stalinist Russia.
About the Lab Theatre:Under the direction of John Jack Rodgers, Stella Adler Academy of Acting & Theater alumni bring years of training to fruition in the vibrant and electric space of the Lab Theater. It is the hope of the Lab Theater to develop theater culture in Hollywood and beyond through the craft of writing, directing, and acting. Isaac Babel and The Black Sea will premiere February 9th, running through March 11th, 2018, at Stella Adler Academy of Acting and Theater: 6773 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90028 at 8pm. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 7pm. Tickets are $20.00 general admission. Running time is two hours and ten minutes with a brief intermission. Our theater is universally accessible.
