"A Thousand Cuts" is not your typical Horror Feature. Rather, it's a kind of "meta" horror film, a thinking man's psychological thriller that tells the story of Frank (played by Academy Award Nominee Michael O'Keefe), whose daughter is murdered by a killer inspired by watching a series of Lance Ross (played by Michael A. Newcomer) films, Hollywood's newest "slasher series" director. The killer is in jail, but who does Frank hold responsible for his daughter's gruesome murder? The man who created those films, and in his mind, inspired the murder of his only child – Hollywood horror director Lance Ross.

WHEN: January 5?16, 2012. "A Thousand Cuts" will premiere at the 2012 Palm Springs International Film Festival. Screening dates, times, and ticket information will be available by the end of December.

WHERE: Palm Springs, California

WHO: Kim & Jim Productions, in Association with Ordinance 14 and Ericabo Productions; Jim Casey Executive Producer, Produced by Kim Waltrip. Directed by Charles Evered, Written by Charles Evered, Marty James and Eric Barr. Starring Academy Award Nominee Michael O'Keefe and Michael A. Newcomer, with Oleysa Rulin, David Naughton and James Van Patten.

WHY: From Director Charles Evered: "I want people to be entertained, of course, but I wouldn't mind their thinking a little as well. "What is our culture coming to when we find the suffering of others amusing? I'm proud of the fact that the film doesn't lecture the audience one?way or the other. It simply poses the question: "Who is responsible?" And maybe just posing the question is a first step."
