Opening its 88th Mainstage Season, the Long Beach Playhouse will present The Hound of the Baskervilles, by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, adapted by F. Andrew Leslie. The production is directed by Mitchell Nunn who has been seen on and off stage at The Playhouse for the a good span of years, most recently as Alphie Doolittle in last season's Pygmalion and in the director's chair for HOT L Baltimore earlier the same season. The Hound of the Baskervilles will run from Sept. 24 through Oct. 22, 2016. Join the cast, crew, and LBP staff on opening night, Sept. 24 at 8pm for a champagne gala and meet n greet after the show.

"This adaptation is very close to the novel that had me enraptured when I first read it as a young man," said executive and producing artistic director, Andrew Vonderschmitt, "and the staging, we hope, will bring you right into that thrilling story."

Making their returns to the LBP stage are some familiar faces. Stephen Alan Carver (Watson) joins the cast after his powerful performances as the devious Annas and hilarious Passepartout in Jesus Christ Superstar and Around the World in 80 Days repsectively. Portraying the role of Holmes is a returning artist as well, Joe Pridemore graced the stage in Nunn's HOT L Baltimore last year, and Andrea La Vela (Mrs. Barrymore) has been seen in several productions on the Mainsage and Studio stage over the years.

New comers to The Playhouse are Mark Eggert, David Viallancourt, John Francis, Jason Cook, Jessica Plotin, and BriAna Miller.
