The 2012 BRIDGE SCHOOL CONCERTS will be held this weekend Oct 20th and 21st at The Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA, marking the 26th anniversary of this incredible and historic series. For the past quarter of a century, the biggest and brightest names in music have been drawn to these concerts to pledge their support of The Bridge School, a non-profit, innovative organization educating children with severe speech and physical impairments through the use of augmentative and alternative communication systems and assistive technology.
The Bridge School Concert will be webcast live from the Shoreline Amphitheatre this Saturday only, Oct. 20th and will stream in its entirety on Facebook. A donation to The Bridge School of $5 or greater is asked to gain access to the webcast. In the meantime, click here to view a trailer for the webcast.
The artists set to appear are: Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Jack White, Guns N' Roses, The Flaming Lips, Ray Lamontagne, Sarah McLachlan, Foster The People, Lucinda Williams, Steve Martin and The Steep Canyon Rangers, k.d. lang and the Siss Boom Bang, and Gary Clark Jr.
For this event, Facebook PMDs GraphEffect (social strategy and advertising) and HYFN (app development and execution) provided collaborative pro bono services leading to the creation and marketing of a Facebook application to stream the concert live.
This Facebook application providesa landing page forthe worldwide online community to watch and interact with one another. Together, participants both online on Facebook and at the Shoreline will create a unique shared interactive concert community experience.
The streaming of the webcast will be provided by the uStream Broadcast Network, the leader in live and interactive video streaming.
