WTFN are proud to bring back by popular demand, the Ovation recommended, and Encore Award-winning show, "THE SECOND COMING OF KLAUS KINSKI," (written and performed by Andrew Perez). "KINSKI" opens Thursday, January 25, 2018 with an open run on Thursday evenings at Studio C - 6448 Santa Monica Blvd, Hollywood, CA 90038.
Klaus Kinski (1926-1991) is one of the most celebrated and controversial actors in the history of world cinema. The reckless abandon with which he approached both life and art left him tortured, demonized and worshiped. He now resurrects to shake your souls with one last command performance, THE SECOND COMING OF KLAUS KINSKI.
In this latest incarnation of "The Second Coming of Klaus Kinski," his resurrection will be presented within a ceremonial sacrarium where patrons are welcomed on the stage before the show starts to explore different aspects of the man's life through relics, curios, exhibits, film installations, live conversations and more.
Klaus Kinski is one of the most celebrated and controversial actors in the history of world cinema. The reckless abandon with which he approached both life and art left him tortured, demonized and worshiped. Before his famed collaborations with director Werner Herzog (Aguirre, The Wrath of God, Nosferatu, Fitzcarraldo), Klaus Kinski was a tortured B-movie character actor who had become a touring sensation for his live wire theatrical performances. It was during this time that Kinski starred as Jesus Christ in a one-man show that had taken him a decade to write. Audiences were outraged at Kinski's audacious portrayal of Jesus and heckled him mercilessly. After only 2 performances Kinski canceled the tour.
It's now 2018 and actor-writer Andrew Perez (David Miscavige in "My Scientology Movie") does battle with Kinski's demons to resurrect him and finish the job in one last command performance.
"From the moment Perez steps up to the podium, with his bleached hair and intense stare, we are pulled on board a white-knuckle ride; travelling with him across continents as he relives not only Kinski's fascinating career, but also his loves and losses, his highs and desperate lows. However, we are not simply theatrical voyeurs. There is no fourth wall here; Perez is not afraid to make direct eye contact as he delivers lines that land like emotional punches. At times, he moves amongst the audience, interacting in-character in the most endearing of ways, even sharing a glass of champagne with a lucky chosen few. He is funny, sexy, tormented, terrifying, and utterly mesmerizing. For the duration, he is Kinski. His performance is more than a one man show." https://www.haunting.net/second-coming-klaus-kinski-review/ by Victoria Camps.
