The 22nd Annual Stony Brook Film Festival presented by Island Federal Credit Union brings the best of new independent films from around the world over ten days, screening at Staller Center for the Arts at Stony Brook University. The Festival is a summer favorite of movie lovers, bringing filmmakers to represent their films at interesting Q&As after screenings. An Oscar-like awards reception at the end of the Festival tops things off, with tickets available with a film pass. The Stony Brook Film Festival has been called one of the best events of the summer, with features, documentaries and short films in the mix. Opening Night features "Welcome to Germany" from Picture Tree International. See over 30 films at the Festival, from Thursday, July 20 to Saturday, July 29. Screenings start at 7 pm, earlier on weekends.
Ages: For most films, ages 16+. Movies are unrated since they are new independent films. Call the box office for information on family friendly films.
