About Project 20

PROJECT 20 is a “well-seasoned” five piece rock band with 3 guitars, bass & drums playing an eclectic mix of “Classic” 20th Century Mainstream Rock, Off-Stream Rock and Original music.

Ron Pace -guitar/vocals Ron Pace has been a music educator, vocalist, and guitarist in the metropolitan area for more than forty years. He was a full-time choir director and guitar instructor in the Brentwood public schools for thirty-seven years and currently directs an after-school guitar program for Brentwood High School. He is well versed in classical, rock, blues and jazz styles of playing, and has performed professionally in those styles. Over the years Ron has maintained an active performing career. In the past few years, some of his playing has been featured on several television shows. Ron now performs regularly with the PDP Jazz trio and Project 20.

Gary Passavia -guitar/vocals Gary is a self-taught rock guitarist, singer and songwriter drawn in by the Beatles and the British Music Invasion of the 60’s. He first studied music and learned the foundations of classical guitar in college which expanded interest in other music forms. Gary was a founding member of the popular Long Island progressive rock group called Harlequin, which evolved in the 70’s from a series of club bands and original music projects. The band was heavily influenced by the musical creativity of Genesis and the dramatic flair of the frontman, Peter Gabriel. He currently performs with the PDP Jazz Trio , and (Rock) Project 20.

Mike Sharp -guitar/vocals Born in North London and inspired by the 60s Folk and Skiffle boom, Michael picked up playing the guitar as a teenager and was soon playing both keyboards and guitar with local bands, including one with Nick Lowe. In his 20s he emigrated to the US and has been part of the Long Island Music Scene ever since, playing in bands such as The Soul Brothers, Boss Ross Blues, The John Ford Band, The Phantom Blues Band, 12 Gauge Country, The Barking Men, and currently Project 20.  Mike has his own project recording studio on the North Shore of Long Island and has engineered records for Blue Ruin, Scott Ross and other local artists.

Frank Cannon - drums/percussion For over 45 years, Frank has performed worldwide as a drummer and an orchestral percussionist in over 200 musicals in theaters and throughout the northeast as a pit musician working with members of Dancing With The Stars, Tony award winning actors and broadway actors.  He is proud to be playing with some of Long Island's best musicians in the rock group "Project 20".

Henry Diaz -bass/vocals Henry Diaz is a guitar/bass player and singer/songwriter from Suffolk County who’s been playing in bands since his teens. He has performed solo as well as in bands up to 8 pieces, covering many genres including rock, folk, country, prog-rock, pop, “wedding band” and original music. Some of Henry’s past & present band projects include The Blue Light Society (‘68), Sterling (‘74), Harlequin (‘76), Kristhen (90’s), Caitlyn Amanda & the Enablers (‘05), A Steely Dan Tribute Band (2023) and is currently performing with The Karpenteers (A Carpenters Tribute -2016) and (Rock) Project 20 (2020)
