Into the Woods at Hofstra Universit

The Hofstra Drama program presents the enchanting but dark musical Into the Woods, October 26-November 4, at the Toni and Martin Sosnoff Theater at the John Cranford Adams Playhouse.

Featuring a Tony Award-winning book and score by James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim, Into the Woods brings together favorite fairy tale characters from Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Rapunzel and Jack and the Beanstalk. Their stories are woven around the tale of a baker and his wife who are childless because of a witch’s curse. When they all head into the woods for their wishes to be granted and to find their hearts’ desire, they discover there are dire consequences to their happiness.

Show times for this production, directed by Professor Ilona Pierce, are Friday, October 26 and November 2, at 8 p.m.; Saturday, October 27 and November 3, at 8 p.m.; and Sunday, October 28 and November 4, at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $10, $8 for senior citizens. Members of the Hofstra community receive two free tickets upon presentation of a current HofstraCard.
