Set in 1930’s rural Ireland, this Tony Award-winning memory play follows the story of Michael, his unwed mother and the four maiden aunts who helped raise him. The story focuses on these five brave women and their spirited efforts to celebrate life during the preparation for the Festival of Lughnasa. As their lives begin to unravel, small moments of joy become even more poignant in this haunting tribute to the spirit and valor of the past.
