Twenty four children and teens from EAC's Chance to Advance program experienced a Day at the Theater at the John W. Engeman Theater at Northport. EAC's Chance To Advance Program supports children in foster care ages 6 to 21 and provides these youths with enrichment programs and life-skills workshops free of charge, encouraging them to stay in school and continue their education beyond high school.
The John W. Engeman Theater partnered with the new restaurant Jellyfish in Centerport to create a unique Day at the Theater for the Chance to Advance Summer Camp program. The day included lunch and ice cream before the show at Jellyfish. Following lunch, the John W. Engeman Theater at Northport donated tickets to the Broadway Hit show Hairspray, now playing through August 28. At the show the campers also received a complimentary snack and a drink to enjoy at the theater."Our kids had a great time and couldn't stop singing and dancing. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to experience seeing live theater. We are extremely thankful to the management team at the John Engeman W. Theater for giving them a day they will not forget."
