Sing! Dance! Act! The WHBPAC's Nancy and Frederick DeMatteis Arts Education Program unveiled a winter/spring class schedule which allows young performers to do all three in the same semester! And for the first time, registration is available online, making it even easier to enroll in your favorite classes! The WHBPAC's Arts Education Program welcomes all ages and skill levels and boasts professional Teaching Artists who provide innovative performing arts training in a nurturing, positive and safe learning environment. These gifted educators bring both their talents and their training to the classroom, stimulating imaginations and creativity through the performing arts!

This Winter Break, children in Grades K through 12 will get swept away in the Robinson Crusoe Musical Theater Camp. Campers are cast on Monday, and by Friday evening, they're performing in a musical production complete with costumes and sets. When campers aren't rehearsing with Missoula Children's Theatre Directors, they're taking classes in music, theatre, movement and improvisation with WHBPAC's acclaimed Teaching Artists. Themed Spirit Days, an ice-cream social and pizza party round out a spectacular camp experience, sure to chase away those winter blues! The cast will rehearse, Monday through Friday, February 17 to 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a culminating public performance on Friday, February 21 at 7 p.m. The fee for the Robinson Crusoe Musical Theater Camp is $400.

From backstage to the spotlight, young stars-to-be ages 5 to 7 will learn what goes into putting on a show during The Jungle Players. Theatre games and activities, taught by Singer-Actress and WHBPAC Teaching Artist Valerie diLorenzo, foster self-expression, exploration, and fun, as students work toward a culminating performance of Disney's The Jungle Book Kids! Students will rehearse on Mondays, February 24 to April 7, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., and then attend daily rehearsals from Monday through Friday, April 14 to 18, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Public performances will be Friday, April 18 and Saturday, April 19 at 7 p.m. The fee for The Jungle Players is $265.

In The Jungle Book Young Ensemble, young actors ages 8 to 10 will take the leading roles in the public performance of Disney's The Jungle Book Kids! Students will travel new paths to becoming young actors with advanced instruction in acting, singing, and movement. Taught by Singer-Actress and WHBPAC Teaching Artist Valerie diLorenzo, students will build self-confidence, all while rehearsing for the culminating performance. Students will rehearse on Mondays, February 24 to April 7, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and then attend daily intensive rehearsals from Monday through Friday, April 14 to April 18, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Public performances will be Friday, April 18 and Saturday, April 19 at 7pm. The fee for The Jungle Book Young Ensemble is $300.

Teen singers and actors ages 11 to 17 can audition on the same day for both Teen Theatre Project and/or The Hamptones A Cappella Vocal Group. Registration must be completed before scheduling placement auditions which will be held on Saturday, February 8.

In Teen Theatre Project, acting techniques including improvisation and advanced theatre games help performers ages 11 to 17 reach new heights in a culminating full-scale production of a One-Act play! Co-directed by WHBPAC's Managing Director of Arts Education/Resident Teaching Artist Julienne Penza and WHBPAC Teaching Artist/acclaimed Singer-Actress Valerie diLorenzo, our students are sure to shine in this celebrated teen program! Students will work with Evan Feist, an a cappella guru who has arranged a cappella numbers for both the film "Pitch Perfect" and NBC's "The Sing-Off" as well as serving as vocal coach for the NBC smash hit "The Voice. Students will perform in a public performance on Sunday, May 11. The fee for The Hamptones A Cappella Vocal Group is $550.

Young dancers ages 5 to 17 will hone techniques in weekly rehearsals during the A Midsummer Night's Dream Ballet Program.
