WHBPAC has announced its upcoming June schedule, featuring musicians, comedians, and more! Check out the full monthly slate below:
June kicks off with New Orleans' favorite tenor, Aaron Neville, on Saturday, June 1 at 8pm. You know his voice from hit songs like "Everybody Plays the Fool" and "Don't Know Much." Now hear his sweet voice sing the classic music that's near and dear to his heart - DOO-WOP! Backed by his top-flight quintet, he'll pay homage to the street-corner harmonies that helped mold his remarkable career. Take a trip back in time as you sing along with Neville's distinctive, angelic voice.
Comedy's Renaissance Man, Jay Mohr, returns on Sunday, June 9 at 8pm. He's garnered critical acclaim as a comedian, actor, best-selling author and host of JAY MOHR SPORTS, a new midday talk show on FOX SPORTS RADIO. But no matter where he sees success, he always returns to the stand-up stage where no two shows are ever the same. Laced with quick-witted references, side-splitting bits, and obscure realities of life, Mohr's uproarious humor will leave you begging for "Mohr." ADULT CONTENT - MATURE AUDIENCES ONLY!
Then, the King of Flamenco, Ottmar Liebert, brings his band Luna Negra to the PAC for a night of fingerpicking, acoustic guitar playing on Saturday, June 15at 8pm. This GRAMMY-nominated, platinum-selling guitarist's nimble, articulate finger work makes him one of the world's most popular flamenco instrumentalists today. His haunting guitar style mixes elements of Rhumba, jazz, bossa nova, and new age music, creating a soulful and exotic sound that has to be experienced live.
Monday, June 17 is the annual Golf Tournament and Cocktail Party Fundraiser at Westhampton Country Club. Lew Mohrmann, Sr. & Lew Mohrmann, Jr. of Beach Electric of Quogue are this year's honorees. This annual day of golf, camaraderie and celebration is all about coming together to support the ever-evolving Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center, a not-for-profit 501(c) 3 arts organization that offers so much to the greater community. The fabulous Post-Tournament Cocktail Reception is always open to non-golfers who wish to participate in this day of festivities and fundraising. The reception includes heavy hors d'oeuvres, open bar, a live auction and 50/50 raffle.
