Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts (PTPA) will present "The Ultimate Garth Brooks Tribute Featuring Shawn Gerhard" on Friday, April 21 at 8 p.m.

Shawn Gerhard is said to be the world's No. 1 Garth Brooks tribute artist that is touring today. Gerhard has opened up for over 27 stars in his music career, and is no rookie to the main stage! When Shawn Gerhard takes the stage you will see why he is said to be No. 1 at emulating Garth Brooks, singing such hits from "Much Too Young" to "Fever" to "Papa Loves Mama" to "The Dance," you will get a true glimpse of a genuine Garth Brooks concert.

Gerhard's band delivers an authentic, polished Garth sound. For almost a decade Gerhard has been backed by band members Steve Purcell (lead guitar, mandolin), Richard " Doc" Barzee (steel guitar), Ronnie Lutrick (bass, background vocals), Adrian Flores (drums, percussion), Bobby Napier (fiddle, acoustic, background vocals) and Ray Whitlock (keyboards, background vocals). The band members were hand picked for their incredible talent. Together, they are a perfect fit.

"I'm nothing without my band," Gerhard said. "I'm truly blessed to work with such gifted, dedicated musicians."

Patchogue Theatre first opened in 1923 as the largest theatre in Suffolk County. It still is, with the installation of 1,106 brand new seats during the 2016 renovation. Saved by Village of Patchogue in 1996 and lovingly restored it to its original grandeur, this beautiful and historic venue was in use 230 days with over 150,000 in attendance for its 2014-2015 season. PTPA is an independent community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that leases the building from the Village of Patchogue and covers all of the operating costs without any subsidies from the Village. PTPA's leadership consists of a volunteer board of directors and a small professional staff. Patchogue Theatre continues to thrive thanks to the hard work of over 80 volunteers as well as the businesses, funding agencies and individuals who support PTPA by contributing their time and resources. Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts is located at 71 East Main Street, Patchogue, N.Y., and can be reached at 631-207-1313 or by visiting PatchogueTheatre.org.
