Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts (PTPA) is proud to present The Swing Dolls in "A Swinging Salute to Veterans Day" concert on Friday, Nov. 3 at 8 p.m. The Swings Doll are requesting Long Island military veterans to send in their photos and homecoming stories to boxoffice@patchoguetheatre.orgto be featured in a special tribute performance during the show.
Audience members will take a journey back in time to the Big Band Swing era of the 1940s and the glamorous 1950s with the unforgettable hits of The Andrews Sisters and The McGuire Sisters. This concert featuring The Swing Dolls pays homage to Bob Hope's United Service Organizations (USO) as well as offering a heartfelt tribute to the veterans with a salute to the armed forces and other patriotic surprises.
The Swing Dolls' spot-on renditions of hits like "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" and "Goodnight Sweetheart, Goodnight," include vintage costumes and choreography, historic anecdotes and patter, and lively audience interaction.
Tickets for "The Swing Dolls Present A Swinging Salute to Veterans Day" are now available online, by phone or at the box office. Ticket prices range from $25 to $50, plus ticket convenience charges. ABOUT PATCHOGUE THEATRE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS (PTPA)
Patchogue Theatre first opened in 1923 as the largest theatre in Suffolk County. It still is, with the installation of 1,106 brand new seats during the 2016 renovation. Saved by Village of Patchogue in 1996 and lovingly restored it to its original grandeur, this beautiful and historic venue was in use 230 days with over 150,000 in attendance for its 2016-2017 season. PTPA is an independent community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that leases the building from the Village of Patchogue and covers all of the operating costs without any subsidies from the Village. PTPA's leadership consists of a volunteer board of directors and a small professional staff.
