Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, the nonprofit cultural center located at the site of the 1969 Woodstock festival, today announced that Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band will perform during Anniversary Weekend on Friday, August 16th as part the center's year-long Season of Song & Celebration.
For this performance only, Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band will be joined by special guests and Woodstock alumni, The Edgar Winter Band and Arlo Guthrie as part of Bethel Woods' Anniversary Week programming, commemorating the Golden Anniversary of the greatest festival of all time - on the very site where it happened 50 years earlier.
Tickets for Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band go on-sale Friday, March 22nd at 10:00 AM at www.BethelWoodsCenter.org, www.Ticketmaster.com, Ticketmaster outlets, or by phone at 1.800.745.3000.
Anniversary Week will also include extended museum hours, docent tours of the exhibits and historic site, and a variety of events and programs, beginning with a screening of the Warner Bros. Academy-Award winning documentary Woodstock: the Director's Cut on Thursday, August 15th. The screening will be held on the historic festival field with a huge screen under the stars on the location of the original stage -a truly unique experience for the audience assembled on the hallowed ground where it was filmed 50 years ago. On Saturday night, August 17th, another Woodstock alum will perform as Santana returns to the Pavilion Stage; programming for Sunday will be announced soon.
This performance is a highlight of the 30th Anniversary of Ringo and his All Starr Band, who played their first show on July 23, 1989 at the Park Central Amphitheater in Dallas, Texas. The 2019 All Starr Band features Steve Lukather (Toto), Colin Hay (Men at Work), Gregg Rolie (Santana/Journey), Warren Ham, Gregg Bissonette and the return of All Starr alum Hamish Stuart (Average White Band).
"I always love playing Bethel Woods and how great to do it this year on the anniversary of Woodstock," Ringo Starr stated. "I wasn't there at the first one, but I've always promoted what it stood for - Peace & Love & Music."
