Joe Piscopo, Harris Doran, and Nell Mooney star in Gateway Playhouse's DIRTY ROTTTEN SCOUNDRELS. The production runs August 26 through September 12.

Another Long Island premiere...DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS, set on the glorious, glamorous Riviera this is a delicious comedy that follows two con artists as they take on the lifestyles of the rich and shameless - and end up with a lot more than they bargain for.

Nominated for 11 Tony Awards, and based on the popular 1988 Steve Martin/Michael Caine film of the same title, this brash but old-fashioned crowd pleaser had the New York Times raving:"One of the liveliest, funniest, best-performed musical in years!"

Keith Andrews's directs and choreographs the production, which sees Joe Piscopo as "Lawrence Jameson," Harris Doran as "Freddy Benson," and Nell Mooney as "Christine".

The cast will also include Nathan Klau as Andre, Hallie Metcalf as Jolene, and Rebecca Baxter as Muriel.

Featured in the show are Mary Giattino, Kelli Joelle Bartlett, Emily Bender, Drew Humphrey, Alex Jorth, Robert McCaffrey, Matt Nowak, Anne Otto, Vincent Ortega, Sean Quinn, Bryant Smith, Meghan Starr, and Chelsey Whitelock.

2009 marks Gateway's 60th year of producing high class entertainment. Our modern facility surrounded by a beautifully landscaped rustic exterior creates a unique theater going experience that is unparalleled on Long Island. The history and evolution of The Playhouse could be a movie in the making, with its many transitions, variety of productions, and a long list of colorful characters from on stage and off. It would be a movie about how three generations of a single family have fashioned what was once a farm on eastern Long Island into one of the top ten summer theaters in the nation

Gateway Playhouse is located on the eastern edge of Bellport, Long Island on about seven acres of wooded, grassy land. The grounds encompass the Mainstage theatre, Barn theatre (for acting school classes and projects), scene shop, two rehearsal studios, three dorm-style housing units, a newly remodeled kitchen, costume shop, design office/studio, paint shop, box office, business office, various storage spaces, a recreation room and a large hedge-lined lawn with outdoor swimming pool (which holds the distinction of being the first ever in-ground swimming pool on Long Island).
