The Gateway's seventh annual benefit, "The Highball," was held on the evening of August 18 at Bellport's Gateway Playhouse. BroadwayWorld has photos from the festivities below!
"The Highball" began with cocktails at 6pm. Guests enjoyed 'A Taste of Bellport,' featuring hors d'oeuvres, entrees and desserts by Avino's Italian Table, The Bellport Restaurant, The Brickhouse Brewery, Sunset Harbor, Mediterranean Manor, South Country Tavern, Papa Nicks, Painters Restaurant, Porters on the Lane, The South Country Inn, and Swan Bakery.
On stage presentations featured the Gateway School of Performing Arts conservatory program's 2017 production of Madagascar Jr. as well as a sneak peek of the final show of The Gateway's summer season, Little Shop of Horrors.
Live and silent auction items included day-passes to Walt Disney World, tickets and backstage passes to Broadway shows, flying lessons, a walk-on role in Little Shop of Horrors and dozens of items donated by Suffolk County businesses.
Proceeds from "The Highball" will support onstage and outreach programming at Long Island's oldest professional theatre. Since its establishment as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in 2011, the Gateway has improved accessibility to its performing arts programs through educational partnerships with the South Country School district of Suffolk County New York, Mercy Center Ministries, and The Boys and Girls Club of the Bellport Area to name a few.
The Performing Arts Center of Suffolk County, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is committed to producing and presenting the highest caliber theater and performing arts events, as well as engaging and training the next generation of artists. It remains Long Island's oldest professional theatre.
