Photo Coverage: NEWSIES Take Opening Night Bows at The John W. Engeman Theater Northport

The John W. Engeman Theater presents Newsies. Performances begin on Thursday, July 19 at 8:00pm and run through Sunday, September 2, 2018.

Set in New York City at the turn of the century, Newsies is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a ragged band of teenaged 'newsies,' who dreams only of a better life far from the hardship of the streets. This all singing, all dancing, high-energy show features a score by eight-time Academy Award® winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Sister Act) and Jack Feldman including "Carrying the Banner," "Seize the Day," "King of New York" and "Santa Fe."

NEWSIES is produced by RICHARD DOLCE the Engeman Theater's Producing Artistic Director and Directed by Igor Goldin (Engeman Theater: Gypsy, Oklahoma!, 1776, Memphis, West Side Story, The Producers, Evita, Twelve Angry Men, South Pacific; Off-Broadway: YANK!, With Glee, A Ritual of Faith, Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, Crossing Swords).
