Bay Street Theatre's Comedy Club is pleased to present Patton Oswalt, on Monday, July 11. Oswalt has been a headliner at Comedy Clubs since 1996. He has appeared on his own standup specials on Comedy Central and HBO. In 2002 he was chosen by Entertainment Weekly's as the "it" comedian for that year. Other television appearances include Late Night With Conan O'Brien, Seinfeld, and NewsRadio. He also spent two seasons as a writer for MADtv and has written for the MTV Music Video Awards. He is currently writing screenplays and has appeared in films including Magnolia, Man on the Moon, and Starsky & Hutch.
Later this month, Louie Anderson will appear on Monday, July 18. Louie made his national television debut on the "The Tonight Show" in 1984. He has guest-starred in sitcoms like "Grace Under Fire" and dramas like "Touched by an Angel" and "Chicago Hope," and he has had featured roles in film comedies like "Coming to America," opposite of
Eddie Murphy, and the classic "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." He is also host of the hilarious "Comedy Showcase," the late-night series that follows "Saturday Night Live." In 1995 Louie put his creative energies to work on the Saturday morning animated series "Life with Louie." The long-running series based on Louie's own childhood earned him two Emmy Awards. His best selling books include Dear Dad - Letters From An Adult Child and Good-bye Jumbo...Hello Cruel World. Louie recently finished writing THE F WORD, HOW TO SURVIVE YOUR FAMILY.
Patrice O'Neal brings his comedy to the Bay Street stage on Monday, July 25. O'Neal has toured across the country and has had specials on Comedy Central Presents, Showtime, and HBO including One Night Stand and Def Comedy Jam. He has recorded a CD/DVD entitled
Patrice O'Neal - Elephant In The Room. He was a regular on Comedy Central's Tough Crowd with
Colin Quinn. He has a recurring role on The Office, and has been on other shows including Late Night with
Conan O'Brien, The Late Show with David Letterman, The
Ellen Degeneres Show, The Jury, and Ed.
More fun on Saturday, August 6, will be with the standup comedy of
Fred Armisen, sponsored by mygofer.com. Armisen is a comedian, actor and musician best known for being a cast member on Saturday Night Live. He is also the co-creator and co-star of the IFC sketch series Portlandia. He has appeared on Late Night with
Conan O'Brien, Crank Yankers, and Adult Swim. The laughs continue in August beginning with Elayne Boosler on Monday, August 15. She started her stand up comedy when she met Any Kaufman. Boosler was the first female to get her own comedy special on cable when Showtime aired Party of One. Following rave reviews Showtime gave her a deal for three more specials. She is often credited as opening new doors for women in comedy. Other cable specials include: Broadway Baby, Top Tomata, Live Nude Girls, Elayne Boosler's Midnight Hour, Comedy From Here, and The Call. Boosler also appeared on the television hit Night Court.
Tom Papa returns to the Bay Street stage on Monday, August 22. Papa delighted Bay Street audiences with his previous performances. He is currently the host of NBC's The Marriage Ref with a season two launch date in early summer. In addition to doing the late night shows, he has also been busy with films which include The Informant, Analyze That, The Life Coach, Bee Movie, and The Haunted World of El Superbeasto. Other television includes Adventures of Old Christine, VH1's I Love the ‘70's, I Love the ‘80's, and I Love the ‘90's. He had his own series entitled Come To Papa.
