North Fork TV Festival Announces Special Events, Screenings & Panels

The North Fork TV Festival announced today the lineup of special events, screenings and panels for this year's festival which will take place September 7-9th at the Greenport Theatre in Greenport, NY. New programming for this year's festival includes an industry panel with three of today's most successful creators/executive producers - Sarah Treem of Showtime's The Affair, Janine Sherman Barrois of TNT's Claws, and Christina Wayne of Showtime's I'm Dying Up Here - the world premiere of independent pilot Greenport, The New York premieres of independent pilots Death Lives, Shoot Me Nicely and Up North, and a free Special Screening of National Geographic Documentary Films From the Ashes. Suffolk County Executive Steven Bellone will present welcoming remarks on Friday, September 8th at the Greenport Theatre.

TV personality Cat Greenleaf, host of the four-time Emmy Award-winning NBC/USA celebrity chat series Talk Stoop with Cat Greenleaf, will host the Oyster Season Kick-Off Party Supporting the Billion Oyster Project at the Castello di Borghese Winery on Friday, September 8th.

According to Festival Artistic Director Jerry Foley, "This year's Producers Panel is a dream team of accomplished professionals and we are extremely fortunate to have them on our stage. Janine Sherman Barrois, Sarah Treem and Christina Wayne have been major players in the creation of some of the finest broadcast and premium cable presentations of the past 10 years. Each of them represents the best result of persistence and creative collaboration. Hearing their views on the current state of independent television and being able to quiz them directly on their career experiences will be a rare opportunity for all of us."

"This year's Festival is sure to please anybody who loves TV," said Noah Doyle, Founder of the North Fork TV Festival. Doyle further noted that "we have more than doubled the number of events that will take place over the course of the three day festival. In addition, to the incredible talent that we have lined up for our panel discussions and industry talks, we will premier four independent TV pilots that have been curated specially for this event. Unlike other festivals that focus on competition, the North Fork TV Festival is focused on showcasing independent TV pilots that should and will be TV's next big hit series-Tomorrow's TV. Today."

"This 3- day Festival will feature Suffolk County's beautiful wineries, the East End Seaport Museum and Marine Foundation and feature the inaugural 'Canopy Award,' to Chris Noth, of 'The Good Wife' and 'Sex and the City.' Our community is very excited and I congratulate the North Fork TV Festival on what we know will be an outstanding and enjoyable event."

Other festival events include an awards night with Artistic Director Jerry Foley, which includes the presentation of the North Fork Canopy Award to Actor Chris Noth, presented by Actor Christopher McDonald, special industry panels, "Conversation with Julie Klausner", an opening night reception and a closing night party.
