New Winter/Spring 2017 Classes Coming Up at Gold Coast Arts Center

As winter approaches, a whole new batch of fun and educational programs for children, teens, and adults is being added to the Winter/Spring Catalog at Gold Coast Arts Center.

With classrooms, studios, a theatre, event space, and an art gallery, the Arts Center supports the very best in performance, education, exhibition and outreach. Our beautiful modern facility in the heart of Great Neck at 113 Middle Neck Road, Great Neck, NY 11021 offers everything, including new and engaging classes like "Hip Hop for Boys and Girls" at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels; "Robotics"; "Acrobatics/Hip Hop" for ages 3-5; "Drawing and Fashion" "Guitar/performance"; "Friends and Family Ceramics" where adults and children of all ages are welcome, and more- you won't want to miss out on a thrilling experience! Adults join in on the fun in our adult-only dance, drawing & painting, and ceramics classes!

A full selection of courses are being offered in areas such as, Dance, Art, Ceramics, Music, Acting & Musical Theatre, Chess, Fencing, and Music Together (For parents and children). Some of the newly added classes are a welcome addition to the fun, like "Hip Hop for Boys" (Ages 9+). Students will learn dance techniques like popping & locking, tutting, and beginner breakdance. In today's rapidly growing technology industry, Robotics are all the rage, and in "Robotics" (Ages 7+) students will build and learn to write programs for the LEGO Mindstorm NTX robot. Students will program the advanced machines to go through guided physical challenges, and learn engineering, design, and modification concepts. In "Broadway Bound" ( Age 9+), and "Broadway Junior" (Age 6-8) theatre companies, students will experience the grand Broadway experience and develop their acting, vocal and dance skills in a wonderful, creative environment. Our innovative "Drawing and Fashion" is taught by a fashion expert.

A New year means a new start, and 2017 is the perfect time to delve into the outstanding array of educational, performance-based, and musically engaging activities being offered this Winter/Spring at the Gold Coast Arts Center.

The Gold Coast Arts Center is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting and supporting the arts through education, exhibition, performance and outreach. For over 20 years we have brought the arts and arts in education experiences to tens of thousands of people throughout the region through our 1) School for the Arts, which offers year-round classes in all visual and performing arts to students of all ages and abilities, (2) Free public art gallery, (3) Concert and lecture series, (4) Outreach programs, which each year bring artist residencies, after-school programs, school assemblies, teacher training workshops and parent-child workshops to students, senior citizens, teachers and others in schools and in underserved communities throughout our region, (5) Year round film screening and discussion series and (6) Gold Coast International Film Festival, in its 6th year this past Fall. The Arts Center is an affiliate of the John F Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts: Partners in Education Program and the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC.
