Bay Street Theatre, partnering with the Children's Museum of the East End (CMEE) will present "MARTHA SPEAKS" live on stage at Bay Street Theatre on Saturday, May 11 at 11 am. The hugely popular children's animated series, MARTHA SPEAKS, is seen daily on PBS Kids and based on Susan Meddaugh's best-selling children's books, Martha the dog is given the power of speech after eating alphabet soup. This live presentation will have something to say to all ages.

There are three price levels of tickets. Martha Speaks, Show Only tickets are $15 in advance and $20 the day of the event. A limited number of Martha & Munchies tickets are $50 and include VIP seating and lunch. There are only 10 Meet Martha tickets available for $100 that includes VIP seating, photo opportunity with the cast, backstage tour and lunch! "We are so please to team up with CMEE to bring these types of fun family programming to the East End," says Tracy Mitchell, Executive Director for Bay Street Theatre. "We have partnered with a number of different organizations this year and we find it is very helpful to all involved. We want everyone to feel like Bay Street is theirs to enjoy-and what we really do have something for everyone."

"CMEE is thrilled to be partnering again with Bay Street Theatre on programming for young families," says Steve Long, CMEE Executive Director. "It's imperative for arts, cultural, and social service organizations in the East End to collaborate because when we pool our efforts, we become even more successful in fulfilling our missions. Working with Bay Street Theatre, as well as with Long Island Head Start, the Retreat, and other East End nonprofits, helps CMEE realize its mission to enrich the lives of children and families and strengthen the East End community."

The audience will see Martha transform from a dog into a person right before their very eyes. It's a very interesting and sweet story that appeals to all ages, even adults. The audience will start out laughing and screaming, the actors are singing loudly on the stage, but at the end of the 55-minute show, they will be mesmerized and completely silent. The moral of this story is "kids, stand up for what you believe in, and for the dogs who can't talk."

Bay Street Theatre is a not-for-profit regional theater presenting new, classic and contemporary works, with a commitment to challenging and entertaining our diverse community. This commitment extends to innovative educational programs that highlight the power of live theater. It is our mission to be an artistic haven for an extended family of artists and audience, while continuing to provide a gathering place to share in the unique collective theatrical experience.
