Long Islands Set To Host Their First Latino Awards

Long Islands only Hispanic radio station La Fiesta is hosting the first annual Latino Awards. The gala is honoring Long Island's top 100 Latino leaders in business, entertainment and government. Mega Super stars and Old Brookville residents J Lo and Mark Anthony have been invited to receive Long Island's top Latino honors. The event will take place on Thursday February 4, 2010-from 6-9pm at Rumba Sky Night Club. 19 North Franklin Avenue in Hempstead. The event is sponsored by Caribaya Inc.

The awards are being hosted by Vic Latino John Caracciolo and Dr. Lloyd D. Landsman. Over 500 people are expected to attend.

The Town of Hempstead has one the the largest Central American population in the United States. The El Salvadorian consulate is located on Long Island due to massive Salvadoran population that resides in the region.
