Annie Ross
Annie Ross is one of the pioneers of vocalese and the composer of Twisted, one of the most well known examples of that art, as well as Farmers Market, Jackie and many others. A founding member of Lambert, Hendricks and Ross, considered the greatest jazz vocal ensemble of all time, her influence is present in all subsequent practitioners of vocalese. Twisted has been recorded by a host of vocalists, including some not normally associated with jazz, including Joni Mitchell and Bette Midler.  $25

Cary Hoffman "My Sinatra: The Songs and Stories"
Cary Hoffman, an extraordinary crooner, sings the great songs of Frank Sinatra and relates how an obsession with his idol helped shaped Cary's life and probably also negated any chance of developing an original voice.  $25

Penny Fuller "Friends In Deed"
"Friends In Deed" is a tuneful celebration of songwriters that she has had the good pleasure of working with during her long and colorful career in the musical theater, both on Broadway and off. From Richard Rodgers, who wrote the music for Rex (which had Fuller doing double duty as both Ann Boleyn and Elizabeth the Queen) to Charles Strouse and Lee Adams who wrote the Tony award winning Applause (where she originated the role of Eve Harrington opposite Lauren Bacall) to John Kander and Fred Ebb (Fuller was one of the original Sally Bowles in the initial Broadway production) to William Finn (where she was part of the original cast of A New Brain at Lincoln Center.)  Other songwriters who figure prominently into the evening include Harold Arlen, Arthur Schwartz, Sam Coslow, Stephen Sondheim, and Billy Goldenberg.  Fuller also includes some cut songs from Cabaret and Applause as well as a handful of charming anecdotes about these extraordinary individuals.  $25

"One Step Forward" unfurls as an anthology of James' life experiences from boyhood to life as corporate CEO to his transition to performing artist. It's all woven into an evening of song featuring tunes from Cole Porter, Bobby Troup, Jimmy McHugh, Sammy Fain, Johnny Burke and Jimmy Van Heusen, Don Raye, Jerome Kern, Oscar Hammerstein, Johnny Mercer, Barry Manilow and even Freddie Mercury. And there's more, as the singer songwriter in James weaves in a few of his original songs, including a debut of the title song, "One Step Forward" at the show. Opie Bellas "Since You Stayed Here"
The passion of Opie Bellas, a jazz singer and so much more, has grabbed the attention of producers, bookers, and fans around the world. The packed concert halls in Capetown, South Africa, where Opie performed in 2004 and 2006 are evidence of this. She proved to be such a success with her appearances at Jazz at the Nassau in 2004 that they insisted she return the following year. She returned again in 2007. Her jazz travels have also taken her to Vals, Switzerland, and to Osaka, Fukai, and Kanzawa, Japan, and now…the Metropolitan Room! $25

Ricky Ritzel and Leslie Anderson "Johnny Mercer A to Z…A REAL show!"
"Johnny Mercer A to Z" celebrates one of America's most prolific songwriters, in alphabetical order! Every month Ricky Ritzel and Leslie Anderson will present a different program of Johnny Mercer songs ranging from the standard to the obscure to Broadway and Hollywood. Ritzel has been a fixture on the nightclub and cabaret scene in NYC for over 25 years and has received most Cabaret awards including 13  Manhattan Association of Clubs Awards in 8 different categories. Anderson has been a piano bar/cabaret performer for several years and her work has favored her with various awards and opportunities. She has been asked to perform several times at the Iridium Jazz Club and always enjoys the opportunity to work with jazz aficionados. She recently received the 2007 Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs (MAC) Award for Outstanding Piano Bar Performer.  $20

Suzanne Carrico "The Art of the Cahn: Music from the Sammy Cahn Songbook"
Up and coming New York City singer Suzanne Carrico with Tedd Firth, piano & Steve Doyle, bass put their own mark on the much loved songs of Sammy Cahn with their show "The Art of the Cahn: Music from the Sammy Cahn Songbook." Cahn's lyrics are an important part of the Great American Songbook, including work with composers like Saul Chaplin, Jule Styne, Nicholas Brodsky, Axel Stordahl, Paul Weston, Vernon Duke and James Van Huesen among many others. These songs have graced the silver screen, stage and concert halls sung by our greatest voices.  $20
