Identity Productions Presents the World Premiere of EROSION, 1/13-1/30

Identity Productions is pleased to announce the world premiere production of Nicholas Linnehan's, EROSION, directed by Andrew Rothkin. EROSION will play a three-week limited engagement at the Spoon Theater (38 West 38th Street, 5th Fl.) Performances begin Wednesday, January 13th and continue through Saturday, January 30th. Opening Night is Thursday, January 14th (8 p.m.).

Erosion is the story of a young gay man's depression resulting from his inability to maintain relationships. After meeting a man of interest at a group therapy session, he is catapulted into a parasitic relationship of drugs and dependency, which ultimately threatens to destroy him.

The story is told through a unique look inside his therapy workbook, his psychiatric sessions with his doctor, and the use of the ensemble who play various internal struggles and people in his life.

The production features scenic design by Alvaro Sena, assistant direction, stage management and costume design by Phillip Chavira, and lighting design by Casper De la Torre. Erin Salm is the dramaturg.

EROSION plays the following regular schedule through Saturday, January 30:

Wednesdays at 8 p.m.
Thursdays at 8 p.m.
Fridays at 8 p.m.
Saturdays at 8 p.m.

NICHOLAS LINNEHAN (Playwright) is an avid director, actor, and writer Previously he has been busy writing three new original new works; His first play, The Real Story, was produced in 2001 by the Post Theatre Company and his second play, Identity (award-winning), was recently produced twice by Queens College, and once by Manhattan Repertory Theater, and lately by Nicu's Spoon Theater, where he serves as Education Programs Manager. Currently, he is developing a new play; Erosion: Life on Life's Terms, which will premiere in Jan 2010 at Nicu Spoon Theater. He has worked as a director for many children's shows and taught several drama classes for children over the last 13 years. Nick graduated from CW Post at Long Island University with his BA in Theater and holds a Master's Degree in Education from Queens College. Past acting credits: The Merry Wives of Windsor (Dr. Caius), The Real Inspector Hound (Moon),The Tempest (Caliban), Identity (Mike), Inherit the Wind (Meeker), The Andersonville Trial (Hosmer), The Three Sisters (Ferapont), Midsummer Nights Dream (Starveling), Obsessions (directed by Peter Ratray), Charlotte's Web (Gander). Past directing credits:Rumpelstiltskin, Pinnochio, Identity, Measure for Measure, Mel and God, and Ambrosio.

ANDREW ROTHKIN (Director) is an actor, writer, director and teacher/coach, and serves as Artistic Director of White Rabbit Theatre. He most recently directed Jonathan's Wallace's short play Hitchcock Blonde and his own short The Peppy Preppie & Soccer Mom 212. Other penned and staged works include Voice, Love Bites and Meredith's Ring (Winner, Outstanding Production of a One-Act Play, Planet Connections Theatre Festivity Awards, 2009.) Other directing highlights include CHiLLS, An Evening of Psychos, The Tiny Closet, Motherlove, Hello from Bertha and The Lady of Larkspur Lotion. Andrew is busy with several writing projects as well, including writing and compiling his short pieces for Love and Lust, to be performed February 12 and 13 at The Duplex.

IDENTITY PRODUCTIONS produces works that confronts issues of identity and the human condition.
