The new musical is directed and choreographed by Keith Andrews with musical direction by Andrew Austin and scenic design by Scott Pask; costume design by Gregory Gale; and the lighting designer is Doug Harry. The musical stars Greg LoBuono (Robbie Hart), Noel Molinelli (Julia Sullivan), Michael Minarik (Glen), Antoinette DiPietropolo (Holly), John Rochette (Sammy), Brian Golub (George), Tina Johnson (Rosie), Jacqueline Colmer (Linda) with Cara Noel Antosca, Michael Baker, Jeff Blim, Joe Conti, Kim Dufrenoy, Lindsay Gee, Ashley McKay, Vincent Ortega, Natalie Renee, Matthew Salmela, Leo C. "The Wedding Singer"" is based on the smash hit film of the same name that starred Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. It received numerous award nominations including five for the Tony Awards including Best Musical as well as 8 for the Drama Desk including Outstanding Musical. Last year there was a large US tour and this year one in the UK as well as numerous international production. In The Wedding Singer it's 1985 and rock-star wannabe Robbie Hart is New Jersey's favorite wedding singer. He is the life of the party - until his fiancée leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie makes every wedding he plays as disastrous as his own. Until Julia, a winsome waitress enters to win his affection. Only trouble is Julia is about to be married to a Wall Street shark, and unless Robbie can pull off the performance of the decade, the girl of his dreams will be gone forever. With a brand new score that pays loving homage to the pop songs of the 1980s, The Wedding Singer takes us back to a time when hair was big, greed was good, collars were up, and a wedding singer just might be the coolest guy in the room.

2008 marked Gateway Playhouse's 59th year of producing first class entertainment.
