The John W. Engeman Theater at Northport has announced its 2017-2018 Season.

The Engeman begins its season in a simpler time, with the original high school musical GREASE. Dust off your leather jackets, pull on your bobby-socks and take a trip back to 1959. Danny is the hunky 'bad boy' and Sandy is 'the girl next door.' They meet and fall in love - but will their different worlds keep them apart? Featuring unforgettable songs including You're The One That I Want, Summer Nights, Hopelessly Devoted To You and Greased Lightnin'! It's GREASE, the most "electrifyin'" musical extravaganza on stage! Be there or be square! July 6 - August 27, 2017.

Next up, let them entertain you with GYPSY, the rags to riches story of Louise, an awkward young girl who rose to national fame as the burlesque star Gypsy Rose Lee. Share the joy and heartbreak of sisters Louise and June as well as Rose, their pushy backstage mother who lived through her daughters. This thrilling musical brought together three greats of the American Theatre - Arthur Laurents, Jule Styne and Stephen Sondheim - who created unforgettable characters and a musical score that includes Let Me Entertain You, Everything's Coming Up Roses, and If Mama Was Married. September 14 - October 29, 2017.

For the holidays is the beloved family musical ANNIE. Based on the popular comic strip, ANNIE has become a worldwide phenomenon and was the winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Featuring book and score by Tony Award winners Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, ANNIE includes such unforgettable songs as It's the Hard Knock Life, Easy Street, New Deal For Christmas, and the eternal anthem of optimism, Tomorrow. November 9 - December 31, 2017.

The Engeman gets you through the winter doldrums with the Tony-Award winning Best Musical ONCE. Winner of 8 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, ONCE is a truly original Broadway experience. Featuring an impressive ensemble of actor/musicians who play their own instruments onstage, ONCE tells the enchanting tale of a Dublin street musician who's about to give up on his dream when a beautiful young woman takes a sudden interest in his music. Emotionally captivating and theatrically breathtaking, ONCE draws you in from the very first note and never lets go. It's an unforgettable story about going for your dreams and the power of music to connect us all. January 18 - March 4, 2018.

For the fifth show, head to Washington Heights with another Tony Award winner, IN THE HEIGHTS. Before HAMILTON reinvented musical theatre, its creator, Lin-Manuel Miranda, wowed Broadway with his first musical. IN THE HEIGHTS tells the universal story of a vibrant community in New York's Washington Heights neighborhood - a place where the coffee from the corner bodega is light and sweet, the windows are always open and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. It's a community on the brink of change, full of hopes, dreams and pressures, where the biggest struggles can be deciding which traditions you take with you, and which ones you leave behind. March 15 - April 29, 2018.

The Engeman concludes its season with the musical adaptation of the classic film SINGIN' IN THE RAIN. Experience the glitz and glamour of Hollywood's golden age. It's 1927, and Don Lockwood and Linda LaMont are the toast of Tinseltown until "talkies" come on the scene. Of course, you remember Gene Kelly splashing his way through the famous MGM film - the greatest movie musical ever made. But have you seen it live? Join us as we make a big splash with this spectacular and romantic musical comedy. There will be wonderful singin' and dancin' and, yes, it really will rain onstage! May 17 - July 1, 2018.
