This Labor Day weekend, Fire Island Pines Arts Project brings to Whyte Hall "Sondheim on Sondheim", an intimate portrait of the famed song writer in his own words .... and music. Audiences get an inside look at the personal life and artistic process of Steven Sondheim through the use of exclusive interview footage.
Opening night of Sondheim on Sondheim will include a special dedication to the memory of Barbara Cook, who enjoyed a long relationship with FIPAP and Whyte Hall as the premier, inaugural performer at Whyte Hall. Furthermore, in the Spring of 2010 Barbara joined Roundabout Theatre's production of Sondheim on Sondheim and was nominated for several awards including the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical, the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical and the Drama League Award for Distinguished Performance in a Musical.
