Engeman Theater Sponsors Moonjumpers Event for Local Veterans

On Friday, March 24th, 2017, homeless veterans staying at the Beacon House facility in Northport received a home cooked meal and brand new sneakers, in an event hosted by Moonjumpers Charitable Foundation, Inc. and sponsored by the John W. Engeman Theater at Northport.

The event was part of Moonjumpers' Monthly Food & Care Package Events program, conducted every Friday at the Beacon House in Northport. On the third Saturday of every month Moonjumpers will pre-pack the necessity care packages at Westy Self Storage on 4049 Jericho Turnpike in East Northport. These pre-packed care packages are distributed to over 300 veterans staying at multiple shelters throughout the Northeast Region.

Moonjumpers Charitable Foundation, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization that helps children, families, war veterans and charitable and not-for-profit organizations through financial assistance and the purchase of products or equipment so as to aid in creating a better quality of life for those in need.

In its 10 years of operation, the Engeman has raised funds for a wide variety of causes, including the American Red Cross and the Hurricane Sandy Relief effort, the First Presbyterian Church of Northport, the Ecumenical Lay Council Food Pantry of Northport and the Huntington Light House Preservation Society. As of March 2017, the Engeman's lifetime charitable giving has surpassed $1.1 million.
