r/j productions & Deborah Grace Winer present Baby, Dream Your Dream: The Great Women Songwriters, a spectacular musical review of Broadway's women composers and writers at Guild Hall on Sunday, July 8 at 7 pm, featuring acclaimed Broadway performers Karen Ziemba, Margo Seibert, and Natalie Douglas.
Though male-written scores and scripts have long dominated theatre, there have always been bold female pioneers who crashed that boys' club, writing hit songs and shows like On the Sunny Side of the Street, Sweet Charity, On the Town, Witchcraft, Once Upon a Mattress and much more. Marilyn Bergman, Dorothy Fields, Mary Rodgers, Jeanine Tesori, Betty Comden, and Carolyn Leigh are all featured in this entertaining and moving revue created, hosted, and written by Deborah Grace Winer. Directed by Mark Waldrop, Baby, Dream Your Dream-named for the song in Sweet Charity written by Dorothy Fields and sung by Gwen Verdon-features musical direction and arrangements by John Oddo.
Ten-time MAC Award winner Natalie Douglas has appeared to critical acclaim at Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Cafe Carlyle, and Birdland. Her shows have paid homage to artists including Nina Simone and Lena Horne, and to civil rights movements. Karen Ziemba starred in the original Bullets Over Broadway and Curtains, and as Roxie Hart in Chicago-all on Broadway. Margo Seibert starred on Broadway as Adrian in Rocky, and Jane in In Transit, and was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical for Tamar of the River. Deborah Grace Winer is a leading expert on the classic American Songbook. Her current collaborations include Jazz at Lincoln Center, and she recently completed a nine-season run as Artistic Director of the 92Y's Lyrics & Lyricists concert series, presiding over 50 original shows. John Oddo was music director, pianist, and arranger for Rosemary Clooney for almost 20 years, including 20 of her recordings and countless televised performances. He was pianist for the recent NBC Tony Bennett 90th Birthday special. As an arranger, collaborates frequently with the Boston Pops and is a longtime collaborator of Michael Feinstein's.

About Guild Hall
Guild Hall, one of the first multidisciplinary centers in the country to combine a museum, theater, and education space under one roof, was established in 1931 as a gathering place for community where an appreciation for the arts would serve to encourage greater civic participation. For nearly nine decades, Guild Hall has embraced this open-minded vision and provided a welcoming environment for the public to engage with art exhibitions, performances, and educational offerings. Art and artists have long been the engine of Guild Hall's activities and the institution continues to find innovative ways to support creativity in everyone.
