CM Performing Arts to Present SPRING AWAKENING, 5/30-6/18

The CM Performing Arts Center's Mainstage teams up with the CM Teens Educational Program to present the alternative rock musical Spring Awakening.

Based on a play of the same name, Spring Awakening explores a group of German teens who are frustrated by the confusion and desperation that ensue when the onrushing tide of hormones meets the ignorance of parents too embarrassed to discuss sexuality and what those new urges signify. Two of the three lead characters are sacrificed on the altar of propriety: one tormented by shame over sexual fantasies and bad grades, the other, a girlfriend, the victim of a botched abortion. Spring Awakening explores adolescent issues that are universal and timeless.

Contains mature themes, sexual situations and strong language and is not suitable for all audiences. Parental discretion advised.
