Billy Kelly will present stand-up comedy shows for families Thanksgiving weekend at Governors Comedy Club on Long Island, Saturday, November 26 and at Jalopy Theater in Brooklyn on November 27.

Earlier this fall, Grammy nominee Billy Kelly released his first comedy album, the brilliantly titled, Billy Kelly's My First Comedy Album.

Billy Kelly has been on the scene as a family musician for many years which earned him a Grammy nomination last year and many rave reviews including a piece on NPR's All Things Considered. For his latest endeavor, Billy has been performing stand-up comedy shows for families in hope of starting a new way for kids and parents to get out and share some laughs together. Billy's new release, My First Comedy Album which is meant for the 8 and up crowd.

Billy likes to think of this album as comedy toast with the crust cut off; if that crust was made of swear words and jokes about dating. So basically there is none of that stuff - just good clean laughs and absurd fun that people of all ages can enjoy together. Because the world needs more of that sort of thing!

Check out "Eggs" from the album below!

With the release of My First Comedy Album (September 16), Grammy nominee Billy Kelly ventures into uncharted waters by bringing his hysterically original live family comedy show to the masses.

This is Billy Kelly's first comedy album, hence the name. Spoiler alert: it is squeaky clean! This comedy is so darn clean that kids can listen to it, and to prove that point Billy invited kids to the recording of this album... it was kind of nuts.

My First Comedy Album was recorded in front of two different show audiences on June 11, 2016 and edited together to create the ultimate family comedy album. Kids ages 8 & up were in attendance for the first performance; the second performance was adults only with the same jokes told at both shows. Kids laughed and drank juice boxes, adults laughed and drank whatever they wanted. The point is this; people of (nearly) all ages were enjoying live comedy together.

Billy likes to think of this album as comedy toast with the crust cut off; if that crust was made of swear words and jokes about dating. So basically there is none of that stuff - just good clean laughs and absurd fun that people of all ages can enjoy together. Because the world needs more of that sort of thing!

Billy Kelly has been entertaining people with his quirky, funny music since 1996, getting his start in NYC's East Village Anti-Folk scene. Over the course of his 20 year music career Billy Kelly has opened for President Barack Obama, duetted with Davy Jones of The Monkees, and been nominated for a Grammy Award - in that order.

The press, well they think he's funny too. NPR's All Things Considered said he has "an endearingly oddball sense of humor." while Time Out New York Kids called him "hilarious" and the Village Voice said he's "skilled and clever". Notable family music reviewer Stefan Shepard (Zooglobble) referred to him as the "funniest person in Kids Music."

Although comedy has always been part of Billy's act, My First Comedy Album represents the culmination of several years of focused comedy writing and several hundred stand-up performances. With the release of this album, Billy hopes to bring laughs to nice people everywhere.
