Behny and Christopher to Star in Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST  Image

"Be Our Guest!" Disney's Beauty and the Beast, The Broadway Musical will run at Patchogue Theatre from December 14th through December 30th and will be produced and presented by The Gateway.

Broadway's modern classic and international sensation played a remarkable 13-year run on Broadway and was nominated for nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature, the stage version includes all of the wonderful songs written by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice. This "tale as old as time" is one of the world's most beloved and follows Belle, a book-smart and adventurous young woman and Beast, a formerly dashing young prince cursed by an enchantress. If the Beast cannot learn to love and be loved in return, he and his household including Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, and Chip will be trapped forever under the spell.

The Gateway's production will be led by Emily Behny as Belle and Loren Christopher as the Beast. Ms. Behny returns to Gateway after starring as Janet in The Rocky Horror Show and Sherrie in Rock of Ages. She has also appeared as Belle in the national tour of Beauty and the Beast, Nessarose in the national tour of Wicked and on the small screen with appearances in Bull, Mr. Robot and Blue Bloods. Mr. Christopher returns to the role of the Beast at Gateway after donning the mask in 2013. He has also appeared in the National Tour of Miss Saigon and on television in Orange is the New Black and The Good Wife.

The supporting cast includes Jonathan Hadley as Lumiere (Broadway/Tour Jersey Boys), Robert Anthony Jones as Cogsworth (Broadway/Tour of Finding Neverland, The Phantom of the Opera and The 101 Dalmatians Musical), Teri Hansen as Mrs. Potts (Broadway/Tour American in Paris, The Sound of Music, The Boys from Syracuse, Camelot, TV's Orange is the New Black), Joe Hager as Gaston (National Tour of Beauty and the Beast), Courter Simmons as LeFou (Broadway's Jersey Boys, Tour of Beauty and the Beast), Steve Brady as Maurice (Broadway's Inherit the Wind), Roxy York as Madame Grand Bouche (National Tours Beauty and the Beast, Annie, Flashdance), Courtney Echols as Babette, and 9 year oldMarty Timlin as Chip.

The Ensemble will be Katie Mitchell, Patrick Lavallee, Elizabeth Flanagan, Roxy York, Megan Jane McGuinness, Julia Feeley, Meghan Nicole Ross, LaTarika Pierce, Daniel Diest, Brandon Alberto, Craig First, Cameron Lucas, and Andrew Winans.

Performances of Disney's Beauty and the Beast will begin Friday, December 14th. Ticket prices begin at $29.50 and all kids 5-16 are half price of the adult price ticket in that zone.
