Bay Street Theater's EVITA Now In Rehearsal  ImageBay Street Theater and Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to announce that rehearsals have begun for EVITA, a revival of the revolutionary musical with lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber; directed by Will Pomerantz; and choreographed by Marcos Santana. This revival of EVITA will take a new look at the iconic Eva Perón and her ascent to the top as the First Lady of Argentina. Bay Street Theater will offer its signature treatment of a large-scale musical - an intimate experience in a thrust theater that allows the audience to get closer to the iconic characters and dig deep into the world of and story of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's masterpiece. The classic score features some of Webber and Rice's biggest hits, including "Don't Cry for Me Argentina," "High Flying, Adored" and "Another Suitcase in Another Hall."

EVITA stars Arianna Rosario (On Your Feet, Cats, West Side Story) as Eva Perón, Trent Saunders (Aladdin, American Idiot Tour) as Che, Omar Lopez-Cepero (On Your Feet, American Idiot, American Idol Finalist) as Perón, Kyle Barisich (The Phantom of the Opera, Bay Street's My Fair Lady) as Magaldi, and Gabi Campo (The Prom on Broadway - upcoming) as The Mistress. Ensemble members are Julian Alvarez, Edgar Cavazos, Lauren Csete, Elisa Galindez, Juan Guillen, Jose Ozuna, Dakota Quackenbush, and Carolina Santos Read and Danelle Rivera.

Other members of the creative team include Aaron Jodoin (Music Supervisor), Anna Louizos (Set Designer), Mike Billings (Lighting Designer), Lindsay Davis (Costume Designer), Jon Weston (Sound Designer), Andrew Diaz (Prop Designer),Robert Bennett (Production Stage Manager), Denise Yaney (Assistant Stage Manager), and Stewart/Whitley (Casting).

"Ever since joining Bay Street as Artistic Director, I have dreamt of bringing the brilliant musical Evita to our stage. So, the summer of 2018 is truly a dream come true for me!" says Bay Street Theater Artistic Director Scott Schwartz, "In Will Pomerantz and Marcos Santana's dance-filled, visionary new production, the audience will be transported to a gritty Argentinean tango club where they will get closer to the iconic characters and beloved score than ever before. With a dazzling cast and first class design team, I know Evita will be a thrilling theatrical event unlike any we've presented before."

The 2018 Mainstage Season is made accessible for all through special ticket offers such as "$30 under 30", which offers $30 tickets to individuals under 30 years old (sponsored by Corcoran), and "$20 under 20", which offers $20 tickets to individuals under 20 years old. Bay Street Theater also offers Free Student tickets for all Sunday matinee performances (Student ID required) and will host a "Pay What You Can" performance of EVITA on July 31 at 7 pm, sponsored by Sotheby's International Realty. Previews of EVITA are July 31 - August 3, which are sponsored by Peconic Landing. On Sunday, August 19, Bay Street invites members of its LGBTQ audience to the 2 pm performance, with special after party to follow.

"Talkback Tuesdays" with members of the EVITA cast will be on Tuesdays August 7, 14, and 21, immediately following the performances. After the evening performances on Saturdays and Sundays August 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, and 26, guests are invited to stay after the performance for a sing-a-long night in Bay Street Theater's lobby, in which guests can sing songs from the show together with piano accompaniment.

Arianna Rosario (Eva) is excited to be making her Bay Street debut in a dream role opposite her future husband! She was most recently seen as Carla in The Kennedy Center's production of In The Heights. Other credits include, Broadway/Tour: CATS (Sillabub), On Your Feet! (u/s Gloria), Cinderella, West Side Story (Fernanda; u/s Maria, Anita, Rosalia, Anybodys) Regional: Buddy Holly (Maria Elena, Ogunquit Playhouse), West Side Story (Anita, Opera North).

Trent Saunders (Che) couldn't be more thrilled to be making his Bay Street Theater debut! He was just recently seen in Aladdin the Musical at the New Amsterdam Theater in New York, where he will be returning in the fall (Ensemble. u/s Aladdin, u/Babkak). Prior credits also include American Idiot (St. Jimmy) and Newton's Cradle (Michael) at NYMF.

Omar Lopez-Cepero (Perón) is beyond thrilled to share the stage opposite his future wife playing her stage husband. He was most recently seen as Sky Masterson in the TUTS Latin-Version of Guys and Dolls. Other notable credits include original cast member of On Your Feet as Warren and playing the role of Emilio Estefan over 60 times. Kyle Barisich (Magaldi) is a native of Los Gatos, California. Kyle is best known for playing the role of Raoul in the 25th Anniversary Broadway cast of The Phantom of The Opera, and was the first actor of Hispanic heritage to do so. He also played the role for the LA and San Francisco engagements of the long-running national tour. Favorite regional credits include South Pacific at the Hollywood Bowl, Barrett in Titanic, Marvin in Falsettos and Perón in EVITA. Kyle co-created the lounge act parody A Touch of Vegas, which has played to sold-out crowds on both coasts and is currently in development as a series. Kyle often performs the audience warm-up for LIVE! with Kelly and Ryan, and for two seasons he co-starred on TV's The Following (FOX). BA USC. Local resident of Southampton.

Gabi Campo (Mistress) - Gabi is thrilled to be joining the company of EVITA! Gabi is a recent graduate of Pace University's BFA Musical Theater Class of 2018, and come fall, will be making her Broadway Debut in The Prom.

Will Pomerantz (Director) has directed in New York City, regionally and internationally, and his productions of new plays, musicals, and classical plays have won numerous awards, including the Lucille Lortel, Elliot Norton, Helen Hayes and Independent Reviewers of New England Award for Outstanding Production, as well as a Drama Desk nomination. His production of The Shape of Things was voted Production of the Year in Washington, DC. He has developed and directed for such theatres as The Guthrie, American Repertory Theatre, 2nd Stage, Playwrights Horizons, The Public Theatre, Hartford Stage, New York Theater Workshop, The Signature Theatre, The Kennedy Center, The Studio Theater and The Williamstown Theatre Festival. He has directed world premieres by such playwrights as John Guare, David Auburn, Neil LaBute, Craig Lucas, Kia Corthron, David Lindsay-Abaire, Stephen Belber, Noah Haidle, and Linda Cho. Will is currently Associate Artistic Director for Bay Street Theater.

Marcos Santana (Choreographer) was born and raised in Puerto Rico. Broadway: On Your Feet (Assoc.)
