Bay Street Theater and Sag Harbor Center for the Arts will present a special advanced screening of the Jules Feiffer-penned film BERNARD AND HUEY on Sunday, April 29th, at 2 pm. The film will be followed by a Q&A with Oscar/Pulitzer Prize winner Feiffer, and director Dan Mirvish. General admission tickets are $15 and are on sale now at baystreet.org and at the Box Office.

Written by Jules Feiffer (CARNAL KNOWLEDGE), and directed by Slamdance co-founder Dan Mirvish (BETWEEN US), BERNARD AND HUEY is a timely comedy about two men behaving badly and the strong women who rein them in. Freestyle Digital Media (and parent company Entertainment Studios) will be releasing the movie theatrically in June. The award-winning film has already screened in over 25 film festivals in 5 continents, recently winning Feiffer the "Best Screenplay" award at the Manchester Film Festival in England, and winning the "Best Film of the American Continent" prize at the Jaipur International Film Festival in India. Feiffer originally wrote the screenplay to BERNARD AND HUEY in 1986, based on characters that he created in his cartoon strip dating back to 1957. Feiffer and Mirvish spent three years tracking down the script, which had been thought to be lost.

BERNARD AND HUEY stars Oscar winner Jim Rash (THE DESCENDANTS, COMMUNITY), David Koechner (ANCHORMAN, SUPERIOR DONUTS), Sasha Alexander (SHAMELESS), Eka Darville (JESSICA JONES), Richard Kind (ARGO, and member of Bay Street's Board of Trustees), Jake O'Connor (MARGARET), Jay Renshaw, Lauren Miller Rogen (SUPERBAD), Nancy Travis (SO I MARRIED AN AXE MURDERER), Bellamy Young (SCANDAL) and Mae Whitman (GOOD GIRLS).

"Bay Street is honored to be able to host this film and to offer a talkback following with such talented filmmakers. Of course, we are also thrilled to welcome back writer Jules Feiffer and to see Richard Kind in his role, as these are both such dedicated artists to Bay Street who are so well known by our audience," stated Tracy Mitchell, Executive Director of Bay Street Theater and Sag Harbor Center for the Arts.

Jules Feiffer is perhaps best known for his Pulitzer Prize-winning comic strip he had in THE VILLAGE VOICE for 40 years. Feiffer is equally regarded as a playwright, novelist, and screenwriter. In that last capacity, his script CARNAL KNOWLEDGE was directed by Mike Nichols in 1971. It starred Jack Nicholson, Art Garfunkel, Candace Bergen and garnered an Oscar nomination for Ann Margret. The same year, Alan Arkin directed Elliot Gould in the critically-acclaimed LITTLE MURDERS, written by and based on the play by Feiffer. In 1980, Feiffer wrote POPEYE for director Robert Altman, starring Robin Williams. Feiffer wrote the screenplay to 1989's I WANT TO GO HOME, directed by Alain Resnais, starring Gérard Depardieu. Feiffer's short animated film MUNRO, won an Oscar in 1961. Feiffer's plays "Little Murders" and "The White House Murder Case" both won Obie and Outer Circle Critics Awards. In 2004, Feiffer received the Writers Guild of America Lifetime Achievement award, and is also a recipient of the National Cartoonists Society Lifetime Achievement award. Jules recently wrote and illustrated the best-selling graphic novels KILL MY MOTHER (2014) and COUSIN JOSEPH (2016) both for Liveright (WWNorton). He is currently working on the third graphic novel in that trilogy. The 2017 Mainstage Season at Bay Street Theater and Sag Harbor Center for the Arts included a production of the musical THE MAN IN THE CEILING, which was based on Feiffer's book of the same title.

The Box Office is currently open Tuesday - Saturday, 11 am - 5 pm. To purchase tickets, call 631-725-9500 or log on to baystreet.org.

BERNARD AND HUEY was produced by Dan Mirvish and Bernie Stern, executive produced by John Feitelson, Will McCance, Christopher Schuman, Jeffry Powell, Rob Schwartz, Bobby Campbell, Todd Remis and Co-Executive Produced by Elisabeth Jereski and Dana Altman. The film is presented by Bugeater Films, Unfound Content and Rent My Brain Productions in association with Fusion for Peace Productions, Good Wizard Productions and Salem Street Entertainment.
