Is America poised to regularize racism, institutionalize xenophobia, normalize anti-Semitism and mainstream misogyny? Our town, like our country, has been rapidly diversifying with newcomers of different faiths, nationalities, income-levels, sexualities and points of view. How can we support one another and defend our most vulnerable community members? How can we come together to affirm the importance of diversity and the core American values of fairness and inclusion?

Landmark on Main Street and Long Island Together invite you to a celebration of community activism, ...and Social Justice for All, at the Jeanne Rimsky Theater, January 15th, 2017, from 12:00 to 3:00 pm.

...and Social Justice for All is a multi-cultural event with entertainment, food, information-sharing and conversation where people can come together to connect with our diverse communities and affirm fundamental American values of Truth, Equality, Liberty and Social Justice for all.

There will be number of community organizations who will share information on how to organize and react to any curtailment of civil rights and discourse. Already scheduled to attend are Bend the Arc, Planned Parenthood, Transgender Advocacy Coalition, Grassroots Environmental Education and SEPTA.

The event will also feature song, dance and theater performances. Featured artists include Aiai Chau (Acrobat), Aaron Chau (Beijing Opera), Napoleon Revels-Bey (drummer), Farbeon (DJ/hip-hop artist) and the Stage the Change Players. Food from various ethnic communities will be sponsored by our local businesses.

Free admission to all Conversations from Main Street programs is made possible by a generous grant from the Angela & Scott Jaggar Foundation. No tickets are required.

This event is organized by and presented in conjunction with Long Island Together. Long Island Together is a Port Washington based organization of progressives who seek to affirm diversity and protect vulnerable communities through inter-connected activism.
